The researchers selected come from Pakistan, Cuba, Mexico and the United States, and their projects relate to the fields of linguistics, medicine and industry 4.0.<\/p><p>Forty-three applications were received during the applications period (1 April\u201331 May), of which thirty-seven were accepted. Approximately 65.1% of the applicants were from Asia, 18.6% from Europe, 11.6% from America and 4.7% from Africa.<\/p><p>The applications period was followed by an external evaluation (July\u2013August), during which the applications were assessed by a panel of renowned experts in the field of ICT. In September, interviews were held with the candidates with the highest scores. The new recruits will join the centre as from January 2023, enrolling in one of the ten PhD programmes proposed by CITIC research staff according to the project proposed in their application.<\/p><p>PhDs will be co-supervised by a CITIC researcher and an expert from another academic field, and will be conducted under a 36-month contract of employment. In accordance with the 3-i dimension of the programme, the new PhD researchers will acquire real experience and practice in interdisciplinary projects, carry out secondments in non-academic partner institutions in Spain and abroad, and obtain International PhD certification.<\/p><p>The second call for candidates will open in January 2023.<\/p><p>3-i ICT has been awarded more than \u20ac1.3 million by the European Commission and the Regional Government of Galicia.
